Last week Brett's parents came in for a few days to visit. We had a great time. For one day we went down to Hyannis Ma and stayed in a cute inn. We knew this place would be a bit odd since on the website the owner talked about his "30 cats". At first we didnt think this would be a great place so we called around. No one else would take dogs for the night. So we decided that at least we'd have some stories about our one night stay in the Cat Inn and decided to book.
We drove down and kept asking Billie Jean if she was excited to eat some cats. We got there and she lunged at a couple of them and then almost got an eyeball scratched out. The rooms looked interesting but the grounds were really nice with a really nice back porch and yard. We left the inn and went off to see the sights in Hyannis. It was a beautiful day and we walked around with the dog all day. She even went on a boat cruise with us and about 100 old people.
When we got back from dinner we all sat out on the back porch and had some wine. We kept noticing all of the signs on the doors all day. One sign said "Dont let Abigail in" which we knew was a cat and then there was another sign that said "Dont let Susan out". We didnt think Susan was another cat because they were all named with the letter A (yes - all 31 of them)! Just as we are about to go to bed I see this binder of clippings that has stories of Susan on the cover. I flip to that section to find out that Susan is a 7 year old girl that died in the 1800's in this very house. She has shown herself to the inn keeper once in 1988 and to a couple other people since then. Now I was ok with the cats but I was not ok with small haunted children. I couldnt be the only one that didnt sleep so I shared this with Brett, Mich and Dick. Needless to say Billie Jean didnt sleep at all that night and Brett and I werent lucky either.
I was glad that we only stayed one night. It was a fun experience but I like my ghosts on TV where JLoHew can see and talk to them and I dont have to calm down my dog.
In case this is your thing please check out the Inn. It was really beautiful and made for some interesting stories. The one thing you wont find on the website is any information about this being a haunted in... hhmmmmm
